Summer's last gasp

This is just a sample of some of the plants which are still outside and will need to be moved back into the greenhouses ... somewhere in the greenhouses! As always, there's just not enough room. We will be tossing some plants, ones which we have plenty of and which people don't buy, no matter whether we like them or not. This is very hard for us to do, but sometimes it's just a necessity.
The weather is continuing to be dry and beautiful, daytime temperatures in the upper 70s F and upper 80s (21-32C), nighttime around 55F (12.7C). We've only had a trace of rain since the beginning of August (and 1/4 inch [.65cm] since the beginning of July). But soon the rains will return.

  1. Even if you are going to throw things away, don't tell the rest of us about it!!!! It drives us succulent lovers crazy (I'm sure you're not happy about it either) :P

  2. Hello, if you want to get rid of some plants, I can take them :) Seriously! I'm ready to cover the costs of shipping. I tend to collect leftovers and grow beautiful healthy plants out of them :)

  3. I hope the rains come soon. Could local schools use the healthy cacti you don't need? I think cacti are perfect for schoolroom gardens (older kids, obviously)as long as the rooms have windows (believe it or not, some schools have no windows).

  4. How sad about you having to throw some plants away. :( Could you sell them at a ridiculously marked down price instead or give them away to charity? Just my thoughts. :)
