Monsonia crassicaulis

Not everything that's spiny is a cactus, and this is a case in point. Monsonia crassicaulis is one spiny little plant from Namibia and Western South Africa. A member the Geraniaceae  family, it used to go under the moniker Sarcocaulon crassicaule but it received its current name in 1996. It's a winter grower and likes excellent drainage.
